GORGUTS was formed in 1989 by Luc Lemay (vocals and guitar), Sylvain Marcoux (guitar), Éric Giguère (bass guitar) and Stephane Provencher (drums). They released their first demo, ...And Then Comes Lividity, in 1990 which led them to be signed to Roadrunner Records.Their first album, 'Considered Dead', had guest appearances by James Murphy (a guitar solo on "Inoculated Life") and Chris Barnes (backing vocals on "Bodily Corrupted", "Rottenatomy" and "Hematological Allergy »). 

‘ When you think of death metal, one of the first bands that should roll off of your tongue should be GORGUTS. The band has had a monumental impact on the scene with their willingness to experiment with progressive song structures and interesting jazz elements in their music. . It is generally acknowledged that the band has scarcely put a foot wrong throughout their career . Of their releases to date their debut 'Considered Dead' is the most straightforward death metal album they have recorded and is an album that is synonymous with "fantastically executed death metal ». does 'The Erosion of Sanity’ ever live up to it's name.
