JUDAS PRIEST - Germany 1981 CD

Few bands have defined heavy metal as boldly as Judas Priest. From their Birmingham beginnings in the 1970s, they forged the steel edge of hard rock into a new sound – one that paired twin-guitar harmonies with soaring vocals and a leather-clad image that became the blueprint for generations to follow. With timeless anthems and a relentless work ethic, Priest carved out a legacy that placed them amongst the most influential and pioneering acts in rock history.

By 1980, Judas Priest had reached new heights with the release of British Steel, a landmark album that distilled heavy metal into its purest form, propelling the band into the mainstream without sacrificing their edge. The record was both a critical and commercial triumph, sparking a renewed energy within the group. That momentum carried directly into 1981’s Point of Entry, which pushed forward with fresh sounds and bold ambition, further cementing their place at the very top of the metal world. Together, these albums confirmed Priest’s reputation as both chart-busting hitmakers and trailblazing icons of the genre.

To support Point of Entry, Judas Priest embarked on the mighty “World Wide Blitz” tour, storming across Europe and North America from February to December 1981. At their peak, the band were tight, fiery and utterly commanding, delivering arena-shaking performances with unshakable confidence. The tour was a celebration of heavy metal’s rise – a showcase of speed, precision and sheer power that left fans ecstatic and critics in awe.
